About Me
As a photographer, I draw deeply from personal experience, using objects from my everyday life and fleeting moments to explore the rich connection between identity and storytelling. My creative process is rooted in the act of noticing – capturing what might initially seem mundane, monotonous, or easily overlooked and reframing it with narrative and artistic intent. I find beauty in the quiet details: the flicker of a lit cigarette suspended in time, the reflective surface of a compact mirror resting on a cluttered table, or the residue of a moment that has passed. These ordinary objects carry weight; they act as vessels for memory, emotion, and meant, and through them, I seek to create a visual language that feels both personal and universally resonant.
My work is grounded in my identity as a woman, an artist, and an observer. I am constantly drawn to dualities – presence and absence, vulnerability and strength, isolation, and intimacy. I use photography to explore these tensions, often focusing on how objects and subjects absorb, reflect, and hold memory. Themes of melancholy, longing, and nostalgia recur in my practice, often tied to the feminine experience and the societal pressures that accompany it. I am particularly interested in the subtle contradictions within these experiences – how something can be beautiful and painful, tender, and distant, all at once. I find myself drawn to the beauty in mundanity and monotonous acts.
Portraiture has become an area of deep interest for me. I am especially fascinated by the subtle ways in which people express themselves through wardrobe, personal objects, and body language. There is something profoundly beautiful about capturing someone in a moment of authenticity; when they are laughing mid-conversation, caught in thought, or simply existing without self-consciousness. These images often feel both intimate and slightly removed, inviting the viewer to image the untold story behind them. My goal is to create portraits that feel sincere and mysterious – images that are personal yet leave room for interpretation.
